In order to ship a painting larger than 60 x 40 I would create the painting on a large piece of unstretched canvas pinned to a wall. I would need to eliminate heavy texture in order for the painting to be stretched upon arrival. There is a chance the paint can crack upon stretching. The professional framer who is stretching the painting needs to be experienced and careful. Choose you framer wisely when having your painting stretched.
